Lost in the Woods: What is Fairytale Gloom?
Let's face it: fairytales are awful.
Witches lure children with houses made of candy, ogres look for human-sized snacks, and poisoned apples lurk around every corner. It's exactly the kind of world that's made for Gloom — the game where misery and sadness earn you points, and happiness will cost you the game. Together, you and your fellow players will weave a tale of princesses who die in dance-offs and brave boys who become beasts.

Fairytale Gloom can be played alone or combined with the Gloom second edition core game and any of its expansions.

Tragic Tall Tales: Gameplay Basics
In Fairytale Gloom, each player selects their own fairytale Characters, placing Modifier cards on them to make them miserable, and on other players' cards to make them horribly happy. As you play, tell the tale of exactly how it came to be that the prince was mocked by a mirror and turned into a toad.
Storytelling is half the fun in Fairytale Gloom! When your Characters have reached the heights of misery, kill them off with an unhappy ending and lock in your points.
Like Gloom second edition, Fairytale Gloom features unique transparent cards that stack atop each other to hide and reveal the Self-Worth scores from the cards below. The easy scoring and tongue-in-cheek fairytale art are guaranteed to make players tragically happy.
The game ends when all of your Characters have shuffled off this mortal coil. The winner is the player whose deceased fairytale heroes and heroines are the most unhappy-ever-after.

General Shipping

All shipments within the contiguous USA are free for any order over $99.99. For all other items, standard shipping prices apply. Generally, orders placed with us will leave our warehouse within one business day. Occasionally, due to unforeseen circumstances, an order will take up to three to five business days to ship. If this happens we will be sure to contact you and let you know when your item will ship. Although your item may ship out immediately it may take longer than that to receive your tracking number. Tracking numbers will be sent to you via email as soon as that information becomes available to us. Generally, we will ship all orders via UPS. We reserve the right to use any carrier.

For item over 70 lbs:

Pools, Foosball tables, Air Hockey etc. are shipped via Freight Carrier on a pallet. We will contact you when we receive the order to confirm all shipping information. Once the game has shipped and arrives at the delivery terminal, the Freight Carrier will contact you to set up a 3-4 hour window for delivery. All games are delivered with a liftgate service and the driver will place the item in your driveway.  (They may place it in your garage, but are not required to do so.)

  • Free Shipping only applies to orders in the contiguous United States.


  • Shipments To Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and US Territories

    • We are happy to ship to one of these areas but unfortunately additional shipping may be charged. To see the cost to ship to one of these areas, add a product to your cart and go through the checkout process. Costs are determined by your exact location. All shipments to one of these areas will also ship within 3 business days. In most cases, your order will leave our warehouse within 1 business day.

    International Shipping
